The Department of Advertising and Public Relations (A+PR), a nationally recognized department in the College of Communication and Information Sciences at The University of Alabama, is seeking an outstanding individual to fill an open faculty position beginning either August 2022 or January 2023.

The selected candidate will hold the rank of Non-Tenure Track Renewable Contract (NTRC) instructor. The normal teaching load for a faculty member in our department is four courses (12 credit hours per semester), but the teaching load will be reduced appropriately depending on additional service work associated with advising one or more student organizations such as PRSSA, Bateman Team, or NASC—Ad Team.

The University of Alabama is a student-centered research university. Thus, candidates should have prior teaching experience and be able to demonstrate their ability to successfully engage students in the classroom. Applicants must have student organization advisory experience and display an ability to be an active and involved member of a highly collaborative faculty team.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
•MA or MS degree in Advertising, Communication, Mass Communication, Public Relations or closely related field completed by start date.
•At least 2 years of experience advising a student organization.

Preferred Qualifications (considered after all minimum qualifications are met):
•Record of teaching effectiveness, with experience in teaching relevant undergraduate courses.
•Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) holder and ability to teach APR certificate course to undergraduate students.
• Industry experience working at an agency on local, regional, and national clients
•Demonstrated mentorship experience
•An entrepreneurial, award-seeking mindset
