Responsibilities

The Multimedia Graphic Designer reports to the Assistant Vice President for Communications and Marketing and provides graphic design expertise, with a distinctive creative aesthetic, and strong complementary technical skills in its role as a member of the Communications and Marketing Team. Assumes responsibility for designing and developing content for advertising, email, social media, website and other digital platforms; producing/editing videos for online platforms; and for taking ideas from concept to execution, working with project managers, creatives, media planning, and content experts to deliver effective digital solutions. The Multimedia Graphic Designer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver designs that are creative, useful, and align with technical, usability and brand standards, ensure consistency in designs and content across digital platforms, and review online marketing content to identify room for improvement.  Responsible for providing advice and guidance on the aesthetic for campaigns, projects, and events. Performs other duties assigned by the Assistant Vice President for Communications and Marketing.

Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field with a minimum of five years of proven experience preferred.  Education and related experience demonstrating knowledge, understanding and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects, Animate, Acrobat and  Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint and Excel required.  Layout, design and typography skills, graphic illustration and animation skills, videography and editing skills, and project management skills are required. The successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal relations, oral and written communication, customer service, decision-making, analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.  The ability to perform assignments independently and as a team, establish priorities, manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively, work in a deadline driven office,  function in a team environment, work collaboratively with colleagues and clients, and interact effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population required. Experience in commercial printing and creating social media graphics and developing materials from concept to completion strongly preferred.
