SummaryThe Senior Development Officer is a professional fund-raising position reporting to the Managing Director of Development at the School of Business. He/she will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a targeted portfolio of major gift prospects in concert with the School’s strategic priorities and objectives. He/she will work closely with School leadership such as Deans, Associate Deans and Directors, and staff them on visits in assigned geographic territory. The Senior Development Officer will also work closely with other departments within the Office of Advancement including Planned Giving, Donor Relations, Corporate & Foundation Relations, and Development Services as well as Alumni Affairs and other External Affairs departments throughout the University. The Senior Development Officer will assume programmatic responsibilities for School specific areas relating to Energy, Finance and Development Communications.
Required Qualifications1.Bachelor’s degree.2.3 years direct fund-raising or related experience in the solicitation and closing of major and multi-year annual gifts in a research university environment preferred. Transferable, related experience such as marketing, admissions, public relations, alumni relations, trust officer, or sales may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications1.Commitment to the values of an institution of higher education, required2.Knowledge of various software systems, such as Word and Access preferred
