Qualifications:

Ph.D. highly desired, Masters from AACSB business program required.  Experience in teaching and scholarship is required. Trinity seeks faculty who are committed Christians able to articulate the relationship between their discipline, the vocational preparation of their students, and a vision for human flourishing that emerges from the Christian faith, as expressed through the Reformed theological tradition. Faculty members are also dedicated to personal involvement with students outside the classroom, including advising, social interaction, and informal academic and cultural settings, as well as with business professionals who can complement the Trinity experience. Trinity particularly welcomes applications from candidates who have professional or personal narratives that reflect diverse perspectives, as well as those who have engaged with issues relevant to preparing students to work and live with intercultural competence and compassion.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include teaching across business classes with a preference toward business management, business ethics, finance, or economics.  Trinity faculty also participate in faculty governance and student advising and are expected to pursue a healthy scholarly and research agenda. In the first year, new faculty participate in a year-long formation program that begins with a three-day institute during the second week of August.

Secondary responsibilities include a focus on supporting an innovative repositioning of the business program that is focused on Chicagoland opportunities for enrollment and business partnership. This includes expanding already robust networks through partnerships with alumni and business professionals to further a working education with internships and the newly launched business co-op program.

About the Department:

Trinity’s business program is an innovative, rigorous program that prepares students for a changing business environment. We are currently implementing a co-op/internship program that will enable our students to gain professional experience at the same time they are earning their bachelor’s degrees. We offer eight majors (a BA in Business; a Bachelor of Science in the areas of accounting, business education, entrepreneurship, finance, human resource management, management, and marketing). Our CPA pass rate for accounting graduates is regularly among the highest in the state of Illinois. Our entrepreneurship students have the opportunity to partner with 1871, one of the largest tech incubators in the country.  Our Fusion59 program offers extensive opportunities outside the classroom for students to grow their networks, expand their horizons and interact with the community and other students. We work extensively with colleagues in other disciplines, enriching the education that our students receive.
