Full Time Lecturer in Marketing

The Charlton College of Business at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth seeks a Full Time Lecturer in Marketing to teach four sections per semester of Marketing undergraduate and graduate courses, and engage in service activities, effective September 1, 2022.

General Summary of Position:

The Lecturer will bring expertise in areas such as principles of marketing, social media and digital marketing, marketing strategy, sales, etc. In addition to documented success teaching at the college level, our ideal candidate will have the interest and experience needed to build the Marketing program through activities such as academic advising, club advising, career counseling, collaboration with the business community, student recruitment/retention, and curriculum development.

The Charlton College of Business is an AACSB-accredited school with 8 undergraduate degree programs, a fast-growing MBA program and a number of specialized Master's degree programs which are offered in the traditional face to face, blended and fully online formats. Located on the South Coast of Massachusetts, Dartmouth is near some of the most beautiful coastline in the United States. Dartmouth is also conveniently located near Cape Cod, Providence, Newport, and Boston. New York is a three-hour train ride away.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters degree or higher with emphasis in subject area, if the Masters is outside of business then the candidate must have marketing specific work related experience.
  • Teaching experience at the graduate and/or undergraduate levels that reflects a commitment to quality instruction.
  • Relevant professional experience of substantial duration (minimum 5 years) and responsibility
  • Ongoing professional/industry activity that is sufficient to sustain currency and Instructional Practitioner (IP) status under AACSB standards
  • Expressed interest in performing duties as an academic advisor
  • Expressed interest in engaging the business community through activities such as class projects, career development exercises, or club/special events.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Experience working with diverse groups
  • Experience in teaching online
  • Experience or interest in recruitment and retention initiatives
  • Experience in academic advising, career advising, or club advising
  • Effective September 27, 2021, UMass Dartmouth requires that all members of the campus community are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and provide proof of vaccination. Additionally, all members of the campus community must obtain a Covid-19 booster shot and provide proof when requested. Individuals who are not yet eligible to receive a booster shot must obtain one within 30 days from the date they become eligible.
