Description of Position

Simulation and Nursing Laboratory Coordinator10-month position
Simulation and Nursing Laboratory Coordinator
Yavapai College Nursing program is located on the Prescott and Verde Valley Campuses. The YC Nursing Simulation and Nursing Laboratory is state of the art with cutting edge technology and equipment, located on the Verde Valley Campus, with a second replication simulation laboratory design soon for the Prescott Campus.

Responsibilities
In collaboration with faculty develop simulation scenarios and simulation operations manual using evidence-based practices to support learning activities, course objectives, and end of program student learning outcomes.
  • Provide feedback to students and assigned faculty regarding student simulation learning and experiences.
  • Coordinate and provide direct educational support with lab setup and preparation for faculty ensuring simulation scenario, simulation manikins, task trainers, AV, and technology equipment is ready for teaching and instruction.
  • Manage all simulation equipment and related supplies and contact the vendor for needed repairs or updates.
  • Provide, support, and coordinate orientation and or training for all instructors/faculty in the use of simulation laboratory equipment ensuring all equipment is enabled and ready for student learning and experiences.
  • Coordinate simulation laboratory schedule, including nursing skills practice and check-offs.
  • Support instruction and assist in the nursing skills lab.
  • Teach clinical course(s) for faculty coverage when or as needed in the nursing program.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.
  • There may be an occasional need for evenings or weekends.

Minimum Expectations & Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in nursing
  • One year of simulation experience
  • Ability to walk independently, perform manual skills, see and hear students and clients in clinical setting
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work as a member of a nursing teaching team
  • Commitment to professional development

Preferred Skills & Abilities

- Master's Degree in Nursing
- Experience as a clinical instructor for an associate degree nursing program
- Professional experience in a community college/higher education work environment
