Spartanburg Methodist College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment for Professor of Mathematics
beginning in the 2022-2023 academic year. Spartanburg Methodist College has a long history of providing excellent undergraduate education for students who are traditionally underserved in higher education. The standard teaching load for professors is eight courses per academic year: four courses in the fall semester and four courses in the spring semester. Teaching responsibilities for this position will include beginning and intermediate algebra, pre-calculus, and/or introductory statistics.
Candidates who have completed their doctoral coursework and those with a master's degree in mathematics or a related field will be considered for the position. A Ph.D. in Mathematics or a related field is preferred.
The successful candidate will have a clearly articulated teaching philosophy; experience with first-generation, non-traditional, and/or traditionally underserved student populations; and a record of teaching excellence.
