Job Description:
The Department of Psychology at Bishop’s University (Sherbrooke, Quebec) invites applications for a 10-month limited-term appointment position, beginning July 1, 2022. More information about Bishop’s University and the Department of Psychology can be found at www.ubishops.ca.

We are seeking applicants with expertise in cognitive and/or health psychology, with prior research experience falling within either of these areas. Successful candidates will possess a PhD and be serious about teaching, as appointees will be expected to teach a total of six 3-credit courses over the Fall and Winter terms. Bishop’s is expecting to conduct in-person teaching this year; nonetheless, given the ongoing situation with the COVID-19 pandemic applicants must be prepared to teach fully or partially online. The potential to provide high-quality teaching in any learning environment is therefore a factor in hiring. In addition to teaching, the ideal candidate will also have an interest in continuing to work toward furthering their research goals.

The courses that will make up the bulk of the successful applicant’s teaching load will likely be drawn from the following: Introductory Psychology I: Basic Processes, Cognition, Learning & Memory, Research Methods, Cognition & Motivation in Sports, Motivation & Emotion, Physical & Mental Health, and Health Psychology I. Other courses will be considered in accordance with the background of the candidate. Please specify in your cover letter the courses you believe you would be most qualified to teach.
