We are seeking a professional research assistant to contribute to our vibrant research program by developing an independent program of research and collaborating on existing projects. We at CBH are committed to expanding our world-class research group that focuses on empirical, policy-relevant research on topics at the intersection of bioethics and health policy. This position is responsible for supporting coordination and execution of research and evaluation projects. Competitive candidates will be outgoing, detail-oriented, innately curious, highly motivated to excel in a dynamic team environment.Professional Field
This position is in the field of bioethics. Examples of Work PerformedThe primary responsibility of the position will be support research and evaluation project coordination such as: participant recruitment & retention, regulatory compliance, data collection & management, communications management, resource procurement and cost & schedule monitoring, and grant application support. This position will be asked to support qualitative and/or quantitative methodologic specialties. Project Support:
The Professional Research Associate reports to Dr. Mathew DeCamp who is an Associate Professor in the Center for Bioethics and Humanities. Supervision Exercised
The Professional Research Associate will not supervise other employees.

The salary range (or hiring range) has been established at $35,600 - $50,000.The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.The University of Colorado offers a full benefits package. - Support and/or coordinate simple to moderately complex projects, and/or discrete scopes of work as part of a larger project;Throughout the project lifecycle: Initiation, planning, execution, control & monitoring, closeout.Perform integrated project management of relevant project domains: scope, communications, time, cost, quality, resources, risk, procurement, & stakeholders.Establish project processes so as to execute project deliverables per defined requirements.Manage project changes.
- Internal Review Board (IRB)- maintain CITI certification, manage IRB approval processes and documentation, draft consent documents, maintain contact tracking recordsPrivacy – ensure project processes & data management secure patient privacy (ie. HIPAA)Others as applicable
- Conduct structured, semi-structured interviewsSupport focus groupSupport qualitative coding and analysis

- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Experience coordinating in multi-disciplinary research setting and working knowledge of good research practices.Familiarity with Project Management principles, their application to the academic/research environment and/or willingness to pursue training.Familiarity with project management applications (Smartsheet, Airtable, and MS Teams)Experience conducting qualitative data collection and basic analysis and/or willingness to pursue training.
