Description Position Overview:
Teaches, advises and mentors students, evaluates student performance, and maintains department and student records in accordance with university policies. Adheres to the educational philosophy of the university. Works in a collaborative manner with colleagues and professional peers. Participates in university meetings that relate specifically to faculty. Serves on department, college, and university committees as requested. Prepares departmental reports as requested. The College of Business has 72 full-time faculty and 40 part-time faculty in 6 academic departments: Accounting, Economics, Finance, Information Systems & Operations Management, Management, and Marketing. The College currently offers 15 undergraduate majors serving more than 2,000 students, and 2 graduate programs serving more than 100 students combined. Department Specific Essential Job Functions:
The College of Business at the University of Central Oklahoma invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor in Accounting. Candidates will be expected to teach courses within the field of Accounting using a transformative approach at the undergraduate level in Accounting. Preference areas include: Data Analytics, Accounting Information Systems, Taxation, Auditing, Financial Accounting, Principles, online at the MBA level, High quality teaching evaluations required. Faculty are expected to participate in department, school, and professionally related service activities. Candidates are expected to have a balanced commitment towards teaching, research, and service. **Note** Position will begin in August, 2022.
Qualifications Required Documents:

Teaching, research, departmental/school and university service is expected. An earned doctorate degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval). **NOTE** If the doctorate is not obtained and submitted by the time of employment, the position rank will change to TT-Instructor. Experience Preferred:
Doctorate in Accounting or ABD from AACSB college or school of business will be given priority. Scholarly Academics (SA) per AACSB standards are preferred. LLM in Taxation with significant Taxation publications may be considered.
Candidate should have sufficient education/training to accomplish refereed research in one of the commonly accepted accounting fields. Professional Accounting certification required, CPA preferred. High quality teaching is expected. Professional experience in accounting field highly encouraged. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Previous teaching experience in higher education environment at the level of teaching assistant or higher is required. Candidate must provide evidence of teaching effectiveness/excellence. Case utilization methods and user perspective principles experience preferred. Candidate must be appropriately SA qualified under AACSB guidelines.
