Appointments are part-time (less than 50% time) and will be made semester-by-semester. Qualified applicants will be placed in the department pool and will be considered for part-time departmental needs to teach courses for programs in the Department of Teaching and Learning. Classes primarily meet in-person, on-campus, but courses could also be offered hybrid or online. The University is particularly interested in applicants who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for under-represented groups. - Teach no more than 9 credit hours per semester. Topics areas to be taught may include: Schools, Society, and Diversity; Children’s Literature; Educational Psychology; Inclusive Education Foundations; Literacy, Social Studies, Science, and Mathematics Methods and Content Courses; Child Development; Family Diversity; Early Childhood Center Administration; Child-Centered Inclusive Instruction; Assessment; Universal Design for Learning; Classroom Management; Health and PE for Elem Teachers; Arts Integration for Elem Teachers; Collaboration and Co-Teaching; Gifted and Talented Education; Special Education; Multisensory Education; Language Acquisition; English Second Language for Educators; Field Experience and Practicum
- Follow posted syllabus and Canvas content
- Effectively use Canvas, an online learning management system
- Create highly engaging learning experiences related to course outcomes
- Gather and assess evidence of student learning in accordance with course expectations
- Use effective distance and online learning methods
- Respond to student learning needs in a timely mannerImplement culturally responsive practices
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of best practices in both inclusive education and adult learning methods
- Ability to orchestrate engaging distance learning experiences
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public
- Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality regarding critical and sensitive information, records, and reports

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Special Education or closely related fieldAt least three years of professional experience in the specific course content areaAt least three years of experience working directly with children in the classroom settings
- A terminal degree (e.g., PhD, JD)Current engagement in professional development activities in the specific course content area
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to moveEmployee is occasionally required to have long periods of sitting, moderate bending, and fine motor skillsThe employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
