Job Summary/Basic Function:Teach English courses in the Department of English. Candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching. Teaching assignments include general education courses in English and Writing. Highly desirable are candidates with a Virginia teaching license, experience mentoring English student teachers, and credentials to teach Inquiry and Research courses. Other responsibilities participating in meetings; serving on department, college and university committees; contributing to projects as assigned by the Dean; mentoring and meeting with students; maintain a program of scholarly research; and participating in all other regular responsibilities of full-time faculty.
Minimum Qualifications:Master’s Degree with 18 graduate hours in English. Commitment to teaching and mentoring students. Be committed to the evangelical standards and mission of Liberty University.
Preferred Qualifications:MFA in Creative Writing, Ph.D. in English, or doctorate in a related field. Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching as well as a competence in coordinating and developing courses.
Work Hours:40 hrs. per week
