Detailed Description:The Department of Ethnic Studies at the University of San Diego invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professorship in Asian American Studies beginning in Fall 2022. The Visiting Professor will teach five courses over the year, work closely with faculty mentors, and participate in departmental research activities.

Degree Verification Requirement: Persons offered employment in this position will be required to provide official education transcripts for degree verification purposes.
Job Requirements:Qualified candidates must hold a PhD or terminal degree in Ethnic Studies or a related field and have expertise in Asian American Studies as well as Comparative Ethnic Studies.
Applicants must have an active research agenda and be able to teach in-person, remote, and hybrid introductory and advanced undergraduate courses in Asian American Studies as well as Comparative Ethnic Studies; an ability to teach Introduction to Ethnic Studies is required.
Demonstrated experience working with Black, Indigenous, and people of color communities and mentoring BIPOC students is preferred.
