Job Duties :

The School of Theatre and Dance is searching to fill a full-time Tenure-Track position for the School of Theatre and Dance’s BFA program in Theatre Arts Education. Responsibilities include Coordination of the Theatre Arts Education program, teaching THEA 2123- Early Experiences in Theatre Arts Education, THEA 4323- Teaching Theater Arts K-12, THEA 4325- Internship Seminar – Issues in Education; THEA 4030- Creative Dramatics; THEA 3300- Playwriting and Dramatic Literature for Youth, mentoring and supervision of student interns in clinical schools and community partnerships, and directing fully mounted theatre for young audiences productions.

Minimum Education/Experience :

Minimum qualifications include 1-2 years’ experience with edTPA preparation, public school teaching, student intern supervision, and licensure in Theatre Arts Education and an MFA in Drama/Theatre Arts or terminal degree in Theatre Education.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation :

Licensure in Theatre Arts Education

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education :

Preferred qualifications include experience in community outreach and engagement, directing theatre for young audiences, and playwriting for young audiences.
