History Department Lecturer Faculty Job Advertisement

The Department of History at San Francisco State University invites applications for part-time lecturer faculty positions (non-tenure track) in history for the Fall 2022 and/or Spring 2023 terms.

The History Department at San Francisco State University provides students with courses organized around diverse regions, time periods, and themes. Our engaged and dedicated faculty work closely with students and provide intellectually rigorous courses that encourage curiosity and civic engagement as well as strong research, writing, and critical thinking skills. Courses and extra-curricular activities offered through the department support and advance the university’s core mission of fostering social justice.

We anticipate hiring lecturer faculty to teach a range of lower and upper-division courses in U.S. and global history. In-person instruction is our preferred modality, but some available sections may be offered online.

Qualifications:

  • M.A. or equivalent degree.
  • Record of working and communicating effectively with colleagues and students.
  • Demonstrated ability to incorporate inclusion, diversity, and educational equity in teaching
