Primary Responsibilities

  • Participate in research and other scholarly activities related to medical informatics.
  • Teaching in areas of clinical informatics, healthcare information systems, usability/human factors, population health, study design, and/or healthcare delivery systems research.
  • Develop and teach courses in graduate programs.
  • Secure grant funding in the areas of research interest.
  • Serve as faculty, representing the department in academic affairs.
  • Serve on departmental and University committees.
  • Maintain a national reputation in service and professional associations.
  • Maintain a robust publication record.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Department Chairman and/or other appropriate University authority.

  • Doctoral degree in Health Sciences or related field (examples include MD, DO, PhD)
  • Record of extramural funding and sustained research activity, and a record of scholarly publications.
  • Clinical faculty must hold or be eligible to obtain a valid and unrestricted license to practice in Oklahoma (by date of hire), good references, and an exemplary practice history (as applicable).

Preferences (Not Required)

  • Strong academic experience.
  • Experience in mentoring junior faculty and experience in academic and administrative services.
  • Teaching experience, evidence of independent and collaborative research, and a commitment to service in the community.
  • Clinical informatics experience.
