Position Summary:

This temporary position will end at the discretion of the Advancement Services Office or when funding or hours are exhausted.

Governors State University is seeking an Extra Help Advancement Services Office Support Specialist to perform routine and advanced support tasks, which require knowledge of standard office procedures, the ability to effectively operate a variety of office equipment, the ability to follow complex directions/protocols, work as both part of a team and independently, and the ability to effectively operate computer systems, using word processing, database, and Advancement-related software packages.

The Extra Help Office Support specialist will support and assist with the implementation, daily management, and operation of Advancement CRM software (Slate for Advancement) and related data and software, performing a variety of administrative and clerical functions in a timely, accurate and effective manner.

Additional duties may include general office work, and/or assistance with the planning and execution of Advancement-related events and activities as directed.

The hourly rate of pay will be based on experience and education.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Any one or any combination of the following, totaling two (2) years (24 months) of experience in the categories below:A. work experience performing office/clerical activities, including use of computer systemsB. college or university course work in any curriculum· twelve (12) semester hours = six (6) months· twenty-four (24) semester hours = twelve (12) months· thirty-six (36) semester hours = eighteen (18) months· forty-eight (48) semester hours = twenty-four (24) months

3. Two years’ experience in work, school or a volunteer capacity demonstrating effective use of MS Office suite to efficiently perform routine office functions in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Evidence of effective experience in customer relations management (CRM) system or similar system2. Demonstrated advanced knowledge of office technology3. Demonstrated knowledge of Advancement and Foundation activities or comparable knowledge or experience4. Work experience in higher education
