Previous applicants are still under consideration.Position Vacancy Announcement The Facilities, Planning, Construction and Safety/Plant Operations and Maintenance Department/Janitorial Services is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Custodial Worker vacancy.Responsibilities
Cleans all areas of assigned facility to include entrances, lobbies, corridors, stairwells, elevators, etc.; Cleans and sanitizes all bathroom facilities to include showers, urinals, commodes, wash basins, etc.; Sweeps mops, scrubs, strips, waxes, buffs, vacuums and/or shampoos all floors in assigned facilities; Cleans building exterior to include sweeping walks to curb and pressure washing; Cleans, dusts, waxes or polishes all furniture, surfaces (walls, baseboards, desks, chalkboards), light fixtures and windows (sills, ledges) in public areas, restrooms, offices & classrooms; Disposes of trash, litter, and other debris; Cleans all custodial tools/equipment and maintains tools/equipment in good working condition; Cleans custodial closet daily and maintains in an orderly condition; and cleans trash receptacles.
Minimum Qualifications Completion of ninth grade; or relevant work experience equivalent to ninth grade.Recommended Competencies Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies;Ability to use cleaning equipment and machines;Ability to follow verbal and written instructions;Ability to bend, kneel and lift a minimum of 25 pounds;Ability to stand for a minimum of two (2) hours without a break; andAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.Anticipated Salary Range This position is $12.50 per hour.Licenses and Certifications Must maintain a valid driver's license. Conditions of Employment Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education. An official college transcript, a high school diploma, or other educational documents must be submitted, where applicable, at the time of employment. Additionally, if currently employed by the State, this law prohibits the promotion of such person.
