Job Overview
The Center on Privacy & Technology seeks a Senior Associate to manage our programmatic work on the surveillance of immigrant communities. The senior associate will design and develop the Center's research and advocacy strategy, and lead our public policy and communications work in the area of immigrant surveillance. The person in this role will identify new questions for scholarly and empirical study; write reports, white papers, public education materials and media pieces for publication; develop policy proposals to limit the reach and impact of surveillance within immigrant communities; provide substantial public relations support to the Center's communications team, including fielding media inquiries.
Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation
The Senior Associate will report to the Center's Director of Research & Advocacy and will help supervise student research assistants who contribute to the program. They will also work closely with and occasionally direct the work of Center Associates also working on this subject area.
This position has been designated as Hybrid 4 Days. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. Requirements and Qualifications
To qualify for this position, the applicant must have at least a Juris Doctor degree and at least 3 years of experience of experience working for a law and policy research organization. The applicant must demonstrate an interest in and commitment to public interest policy advocacy at the intersection of technology and the law.
