Teach undergraduate courses on campus including but not limited to, Worship Ministry, Technology in Worship, Worship Planning and Administration, Biblical Perspective of Worship, and Internships.


Additional responsibilities include, providing oversight and leadership for the chapel worship teams, set up/ tear down crews, and tech teams as well as overseeing all aspects of the video and audio needs of chapel. Teaching assignments will typically comprise 50% of faculty load each term.



  • Teach courses related to worship ministry, including Technology in Worship, Worship Planning and Administration, Biblical Perspective of Worship, and Internships. Additional topics and/or private music lessons may be available to qualified candidates.
  • Advise Worship Ministry students in the Department of Biblical, Theological, and Ministry Studies.
  • Recruit new students to pursue BA in Worship Ministry or minor in Worship Ministry.
  • Stay abreast of scholarly developments in worship ministries as well as current teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and assessment.
  • Review related curricula and recommend modifications as appropriate
  • Contribute to the field of worship ministry and/or the profession of college-level teaching.
  • Engage in general faculty responsibilities that include:
    • Participation in department and faculty meetings,
    • Care of students,
    • Crown College committee assignments, and
    • At least 10 hours of scheduled office hours per week to be available to students.
  • In support of on-campus Chapel and to provide practical opportunities to Crown students:
    • Oversee, mentor, and encourage chapel worship leaders for at least three weekly services during each regular semester. This includes:
      • Recruiting, hiring, and supervising worship team and production crew members; and
      • Meeting regularly with worship leaders for planning and coaching, communicating speakers’ themes and encouraging an appropriate variety of elements, styles, forms, and formats.
    • Assist with the overall quality of chapel. This includes:
      • Overseeing use of planning software, providing training and recommending new methods and technologies;
      • Attending daytime chapels regularly and Sunday evening chapels occasionally;
      • Assessing and leading in improvements of presentations, including audio and video production;
      • Periodically leading chapel worship as an example to student leaders and an edification of the Crown Community; and
      • Maintaining equipment related to chapel worship and recommending purchases as needed.
  • Responsibilities for Chapel leadership will typically equate to 50% of faculty load for each term.


  • A Biblically-grounded and convictional theology of worship
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise leading and teaching others to lead corporate worship
  • Ability to perform vocally or instrumentally from standard musical notation, chord charts, and lead sheets
  • Experience working with audio, video, and lighting equipment related to corporate worship
  • Strong interpersonal skills and positive energy regarding professional education
  • Established ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Skill to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Demonstrated excellence in spoken, written and electronic communication skills
  • Ability to integrate collegiate teaching and the Christian faith



  • Bachelor degree in worship, music, or related field and a Master degree with at least 18 hours in the field(s) of music and/or worship
  • At least five years leading corporate worship in an Evangelical church
  • Demonstrated teaching effectiveness
  • Experience using technology in teaching/learning processes, team organization, and tools related to corporate worship


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to the above minimum qualifications):

  • MDiv, ThD, PhD, or the equivalent from an Evangelical seminary or graduate school
  • Ordination or Consecration in the Christian and Missionary Alliance
  • Collegiate teaching experience
  • Education and skills to teach private lessons in voice, piano, and/or guitar and basic music classes
  • Education and experience to teach additional courses in the Department of Biblical, Theological, and Ministry Studies
