Assistant Professor of Nursing
Biological & Health Sciences
Full Time, Tenure Track

Expected Start July 2022
Teach undergraduate nursing courses on campus and supervise nursing students in clinical settings. A normal teaching load is 24 credits each year.


  • Teach courses within the prescribed nursing curriculum utilizing a variety of teaching methodologies to engage students in the learning process.
  • Supervise Adjunct and clinical faculty who may be assigned within a course.
  • Facilitate student development of knowledge, skills, and demeanor required for professional practice as a nurse.
  • Supervise students in clinical settings.
  • Advise students in the Department of Nursing.
  • Stay abreast of scholarly developments in specific and relevant fields as well as current teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and assessment.
  • Contribute to the field of nursing and/or the profession of college-level teaching.
  • Participate in measures to maintain compliance with Minnesota State Board of Nursing and Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
  • Support the mission, goals and objectives of Crown College.
  • Engage in general faculty responsibilities that include:
    • Participation in department and faculty meetings,
    • Care of students,
    • Crown College committee assignments, and
    • Minimum 10 scheduled office hours per week to be available to students.


  • Demonstrated experience and expertise teaching nursing courses at the college level.
  • Demonstrated experience in simulation labs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and positive energy regarding professional education.
  • Established ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Demonstrate excellence and professionalism in spoken, written and electronic communication skills when with prospective and current students, faculty, and staff, as well as clinical agency representatives.
  • Ability to integrate collegiate teaching and the Christian faith.
  • Experience evaluating students’ work and reporting results promptly.
  • Agreement and personal alignment with the Crown College Statement of Faith and Community Covenant.
