Job Summary
Undergraduate research at Columbus State University is a growing area of strategic investment. This position will work with the Dean of Research and Graduate Studies and others to elevate and advance undergraduate research at CSU.

Responsibilities
The Coordinator for Undergraduate Research will:
  • Meet with and assist students who are interested in undergraduate research.
  • Create, schedule, prepare materials for, and present workshops on undergraduate research to faculty and undergraduate students.
  • Assist students in identifying opportunities for and preparing proposals and applications for internal and external research funding, including nationally competitive undergraduate research opportunities and other internships.
  • Maintain and enhance the UR website to ensure accessibility, clarity, and educational value.
  • Assist in the marketing and communication of UR activities and funding programs to students, faculty, advisors, and other administrators.
  • Assist in executing undergraduate research exhibitions and symposia (including the annual Tower Day Undergraduate Research Conference and Momentum Undergraduate Research Journal) designed to share and publicize undergraduate students' research achievements. This activity includes advertising exhibitions, securing space, event planning, processing proposals, creating programs, and managing events.
  • Prepare informational and promotional materials, assist UR assessment efforts, assemble data, and write and/or edit reports.
  • Maintain a collection of resource materials and program information.

Required Qualifications
Terminal degree in Field; Three years related experience

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in planning and coordinating events or ongoing activities for undergraduates in a university setting; supporting undergraduate researchers; facilitating activities for university faculty; and training students in developing research questions, data analysis, scholarly writing, etc.

Proposed Salary
The Undergraduate Research Coordinator will have access to funds supporting professional development opportunities such as attending the Council of Undergraduate Research Conference, release time and/or stipends, graduate assistant assistance, and office space in the Graduate School.
