Office of Information Technology has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified Risk and Compliance Manager position.

We are looking for a dynamic inclusive leader to manage our IT Risk and Compliance team, with a focus on reducing university risk and ensuring campus compliance with regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, FERPA, PCI and FISMA.  If you think you have what it takes to lead this team, we want to know more about YOU!

We are looking for a Risk and Compliance (RAC) Manager to provide IT compliance and risk management leadership for the CU Anschutz and CU Denver campuses.  The RAC Manager will collaborate with the director to strategically improve our compliance posture, mature our compliance program, and reduce IT risk.  The position will also have the exciting opportunity to train, develop and empower a dedicated, growing team of professional compliance analysts.  Here are examples of the types of things you may encounter on a typical day:

    Develop and mature services and procedures that assist researchers with their compliance needs and help clarify their security and compliance responsibilities Work with your team to mature the effectiveness and efficiency of our campus services, and collaborate with peers across the other CU campuses to improve and normalize common services across the systemCodify and translate compliance requirements and security controls (eg NIST 800-53) controls for researchers, business units and IT processionalsMature and maintain our HIPAA risk management program that ensures compliance with HIPAA regulationsCollaborate with the CU Treasurer’s office to ensure that the campus maintains compliance with PCIDSSPerformance planning, evaluation and professional development of the RAC Team, as well as hiring and progressive discipline of RAC Team members

Qualifications
We also have a few Minimum Requirements:

    Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree. Work experience in the occupational field or specialized subject area of the work assigned to the job may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the degree.4 or more years working in IT compliance (eg NIST-based controls, HIPAA, FISMA, FERPA and/or PCI) or 4+ years in management and leadership
Required: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

    Experience with team development and building a culture of inclusiveness and belongingExperience working in higher educationExperience working with HIPAA compliancePrevious management experience leading a team of processionalsExperience developing and improving polices and standardsFamiliarity with the NIST framework, especially SP800-53 and 800-171

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $73,102 to $110,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Conditions of Employment:

This position may require some occasional weekend and evening assignments as well as occasional availability during off-hours for participation in both scheduled and unscheduled activities.

This position is eligible for working globally remote. The work schedule will be based around core working hours in Colorado Mountain Time.
