This research project is part of a larger CDC funded effort by Tulane to decrease rates of youth violence in our community. The Clinical Social Worker will provide monthly case management sessions to victims of violence who are enrolled into the study during treatment for a gunshot wound at University Medical Center (UMC). The Clinical Social Worker will receive training in the MI-informed Case Management approach and will receive supervision from investigators of the study. The Clinical Social Worker will work closely with the Violence Prevention team from the City of New Orleans and the staff of the Trauma Recovery Clinic at UMC, as well as other medical and nursing staff.
