Trinity Christian College invites applications for a half-time faculty position in Mathematics, beginning August 2022.


Ph.D. preferred Master’s degree in mathematics required. Experience in college-level teaching and scholarship is desired.

Trinity seeks faculty candidates who are professing Christians and are committed to excellence in teaching and service. Successful candidates will possess the ability to articulate the relationship between their academic discipline, the vocational preparation of their students, and a vision for human flourishing that emerges from the Christian faith. Successful candidates are also dedicated to personal involvement with students outside of the classroom through advising, social interaction, and informal academic and cultural settings, as well as with professionals who can complement the Trinity experience.  Trinity particularly welcomes applications from candidates who have professional or personal narratives that reflect diverse perspectives, as well as those who have engaged with issues relevant for preparing students to work and live with intercultural competence and compassion.

Please note that Trinity is also currently posting an additional, full-time faculty position in mathematics with an August 2023 start date. Candidates who are interested in a half-time position (beginning in August 2022) that transitions to a full-time position in 2023 are encouraged to apply to this post and to indicate their interest in the transition to full-time in their cover letter.


This is a 9-month half-time teaching faculty role. Responsibilities include teaching nine credits of mathematics courses each semester and collaborating in department activities. Teaching assignments will be selected to serve the department and college needs and align with the area of expertise of the successful candidate. Desirable areas of expertise include mathematics education and elementary statistics, though generalists are also encouraged to apply. In their first year, new faculty participate in a year-long formation program that begins with a three-day institute in August.

About the Department:

The Mathematics Department offers majors in mathematics and mathematics education. All students complete a field education experience as a required graduation component; many students also do research with department faculty. Faculty in the department have research interests in algebraic combinatorics, cryptography, and technology in the teaching of mathematics. The department hosts mathematics competitions for elementary and middle school students each year. More information about the department can be found on the college website
