Job Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Registrar, the Student Communications Associate assists with block registration as well as other areas of registration. Duties include reviewing student test scores, transfer credit, major and other criteria to determine placement. Additional responsibilities include communication with students regarding time tickets, eCore and registration. This position also provides consultation to the Enrollment Management Services Division in regards to registration services.

The Student Communications Associate also provides support for commencement which will require knowledge of the policies and procedures of the registrar's office. The incumbent is expected to play a key role in fostering a positive work environment with the expectation of continuous improvement and excellent customer service.

Collaborative and team-oriented skills, with a commitment to student success and diversity, are essential attributes needed by the individual performing this position's duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Review students' test scores, transfer credit, major and other criteria to determine eligibility for block registration
  • Communicate general registration, block registration, time ticket and eCore information to students and campus partners
  • Analyze facts and assist in the resolution of any registration issues related to blocks
  • Provide support for graduation and orientation events
  • Answer questions regarding GGC registration policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • 2 Year Degree
  • 1+ years of relevant experience
  • Technological proficiency including Microsoft Office and other software applications
  • Experience with database systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with Banner
  • Experience working in a Registrar's office or institution of higher education
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Ability to work with and manage a variety of details
  • Knowledge of MS Office and skill in its use
  • Skill in providing customer service
  • Ability to work with diverse populations
  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced work environment

Position requires local travel. Ability to lift and carry files and materials. Ability to move from one office to another office on campus. Adequate vision, hearing and manual dexterity to interact with people in person, on the phone and in writing. Job takes place in normal environmental conditions.
