Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs

 

Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana invites nominations and applications for the position of provost and senior vice president for academic affairs. Reporting to the president, the provost is the chief academic officer for the institution and provides oversight for all academic related affairs.  Ivy Tech is the largest, singly accredited statewide community college in the United States with nearly 160,000 students and 19 campuses.

 

The provost promotes academic excellence and integrity and leads accreditation, academic student success initiatives and innovations in programs and methods of instructional delivery that respond to a rapidly changing higher education environment. The provost ensures academic quality standards are met or exceeded and establishes and verifies consistency in academic courses and programs. The provost leads the strategic enrollment planning for the college including marketing, recruitment, and enrollment functions to ensure all Hoosiers have post-secondary access and success.

 

The provost is an integral part of President Sue Ellspermann’s cabinet, collaborating with peers on a wide range of matters including the academic components of the State of Indiana’s biennial budget, and the linkage of programs with the demands of Indiana’s workforce. The provost serves as the college’s academic representative with the Indiana Commission for Higher Education, with four-year transfer institutions, accreditation and external constituencies. The provost presents proposals, analyses, and recommendations to the college’s State Board of Trustees

 

Education and Experience  

             Earned doctorate in a related field and substantial experience in educational administration and teaching at the post-secondary education level.

             Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, fiscal management, resource allocation, collaborative problem solving, and supervision of personnel.

             Experience working in an agile, collaborative, distributed leadership environment.

             Knowledge of career pathways linked with educational pathways in context of workforce alignment and student success.

             Demonstrated ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by Ivy Tech students and employees and ensures every individual feels respected and valued.

             Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as a strong analytical skills.

             Ability and willingness to travel regularly to campuses across the system and travel out of state for business and/or professional development as needed.

 

Salary

Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
