North Orange County Community College District is now accepting applications for a Part-Time Supervising Dentist at Cypress College! The college has a 16-chair dental hygiene clinic, and the Supervisory DDS will manage the medical/dental needs of the dental hygiene clinic patients.

Primary Purpose:

Duties and responsibilities as presented are intended to be representative and not restrictive. The District reserves the right to modify the assignment and allocation of duties in accordance with operational needs.

Essential Functions:

Job Description:

Must complete documentation according to DDS guidelines and reports to the Dental Hygiene Program Director.

Must have excellent supervisory skills and maintains current and accurate training.

Special Requirements:

Current DDS or DMD license

Current Healthcare Provider (BLS) Adult, Child and Infant CPR/AED certificate

Two (2) hours of clinical dental hygiene methodology continuing education (per DHBC)

The award of all degrees must be verifiable on a legible transcript. If degree award date is not posted on transcript your application will be deemed incomplete and removed from consideration.

Grade cards will not be accepted in lieu of transcripts.

Minimum Qualifications:

Any Bachelor’s degree or higher AND two (2) years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment

OR

Any Associate degree AND six (6) years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment

OR

Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area
OR

the equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

Commitment to diversity. Desirable Qualifications:

Experience in teaching dental or dental hygiene programs.

High level of critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Dental field experience within the last five (5) years.

High professional standards and strong interpersonal skills.

Experienced in approaching work and interactions with colleagues and/or students in an equity minded manner. Ability to provide an inclusive and welcoming work/educational environment.
