The Department of Information Technology has an exciting opportunity for a Full-time Sr. Auditor. The Sr. Auditor helps protect UHealth’s computers, networks, and data against security threats, and helps orchestrate the security incident response activities. The Sr. Auditor will, in an ongoing basis, assess security controls to identify, prevent, and recover from cybersecurity attacks. The Sr. Auditor facilitates the attainment of higher levels of customer service by directing internal teams in the execution of IT initiatives. Moreover, the incumbent ensures that all units operate in a manner consistent with UHealth’s policies, procedures, objectives, and high standards of administrative practice.

  • Develops audit findings and recommendations regarding internal information systems controls.

  • Identifies, assesses and effectively describes IT risk and control strengths and concerns to audit and client contacts.

  • Maintains IT audit files and review manuals, policies, reports, and other written materials to collect information.

  • Compiles test exceptions to determine root cause and draft audit issues regarding information technology (IT) infrastructure, data flows/processes, and operating procedures.

  • Reviews findings of audits conducted by support staff to ensure that all requirements are met.

  • Develops findings relating to assigned assessments and recommends changes in the procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of security safeguards.

  • Drafts a report of assessments findings, and makes recommendations for correcting unsatisfactory conditions, improving operations,.

  • Assists in evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of controls.

  • Conducts follow-up procedures subsequent to the auditees' responses to ensure that the reported corrective action has been taken and is working effectively.

  • Manages audit action plans and work with management and stake holders through the remediation process.

  • Demonstrates critical thinking by gathering, analyzing, questioning and sharing perspectives on assignments.

  • Delivers clear and timely written and verbal communications to peers, supervisors and clients about assigned topics.

  • Plans independently the full range of security controls for the protection of information assets.

  • May participate in the interviewing, hiring and performance appraisals of lower level people.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • CISA, CISM and/or CIA certification strongly desired.

  • 8+ years of Information Security experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Prior experience dealing with IT and security operations environment

  • Prior people management/leadership experience with proven experience to lead, motivate and direct a workgroup.

  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.

  • Strong project management, presentation, and communication skills.

  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA, NIST and COBIT.

Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
