The Department of Psychology at the University of Miami (UM) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-eligible, or tenure-track faculty member to join our department’s Adult Division in August 2022. We are open to a wide range of specialties, including experimental, quantitative, neuroscience, or clinical science as applied to examine psychological mechanisms underlying human behavior. Priority will be given to outstanding scholars who will contribute effectively to both the undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentoring programs of the University.

The Adult Division within the Psychology Department includes faculty who conduct mechanistic work in the areas of emotion, cognition, social factors, and psychopathology. We use a broad range of experimental, psychophysiological, neuroscience, evolutionary, social, quantitative, and treatment-development methodologies. The department as a whole values collaboration within and across divisions. Our Neuroimaging Facility is available to researchers working in the area of human neuroscience and/or wishing to collaborate with faculty members who do so. As a group, we are committed to the idea that an understanding of emotion, cognition, and behavior at a basic level fosters a better understanding of problem behavior across the lifespan.

The Department of Psychology is a vibrant community that includes clinical and psychological sciences faculty across Adult, Child, Health, and Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience Divisions. The mission of the Department is to acquire, advance, and disseminate knowledge within the Psychological and Biobehavioral Sciences, supported through excellent graduate programs and state-of-the-art facilities.
