Job Summary
The Student Assistant Camp Counselors will provide structured sport experience for campers at the All Sports Camp summer sessions within the guidelines of federal, state, and local laws, and office/camp/departmental, division and college policies and procedures.
Instructs campers in sports offered at campus each week, including but not limited to:
Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, Volleyball, Tennis, Track & Field, Physical Education Sports, and many more
Instructs campers in other non sport activities that will be incorporated throughout the week
Monitors campers during morning drop off, pick-up, at camp stations, lunchtime and camp enrichments
Assists in explaining and enforcing safety protocols
Actively engages campers throughout the day
Maintains a safe and healthy environment where campers can learn and grow athletically
Introduces campers to new sports and provides them with the skills necessary to play each sport
Required QualificationsStrong interpersonal and communication skills and abilities
Ability to work with diverse populations and ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with others
Capable of working with elementary school-aged children
Demonstrate ability to work independently and to maintain confidentiality
Possess leadership skills: coach, mentor, and educate
Flexible schedule willing to work on a regular basis sometime between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience working as a camp counselor

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Expect intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, running, walking, throwing, and moving of light objects
Work is performed on sports fields and courts which may result in exposure to outdoor elements such as sunlight, heat, pollen, and insects
