Brief Position Summary:

The Middlebury Institute of International Studies seeks an adjunct professor to teach International Marine Science & Policy, a 4-unit master’s level course in the International Environmental Policy Program in fall 2022 that meets twice per week over 15 weeks from September to mid-December. The course typically has 10-15 students and can be taught in-person in Monterey or fully online. The course presents students with an overview of the key natural science principles in issue areas such as marine biodiversity conservation, ocean acidification, fisheries dynamics, and marine pollution, with examples of how these science principles interact with policy solutions.Requirements for this position include:- A Ph.D. in marine science or a related field is preferred, but a holder of a master’s degree with many years relevant experience is encouraged to apply.- Teaching experience.- Knowledge of how marine science is put into practice in policy.- International experience preferable.The pay for this position will be based on the instructor’s qualifications.
