Instruction of all levels of physics courses including Technical Physics, General Physics, and Engineering Physics as well as the possibility of teaching Introduction to Astronomy. Other responsibilities and duties will include participating in division-wide program and curriculum planning as well as the assessment of student learning outcomes. Preparing instructional strategies and materials to meet the needs of the students including the revision, planning and development of courses and course delivery methods. Utilization of distance learning and online strategies will be necessary. As an integral member of the Division, the individual is expected to develop effective collegial relationships, and work closely with students and local employers, and promote division programs and the College in general. Master’s degree in Physics with graduate coursework in one of the following subfields: classical mechanics, thermodynamics, and statistical mechanics, electromagnetism, relativity, quantum mechanics, astrophysics, biophysics, or geophysics, OR Master’s degree with 18 graduate credits in any of the above subfields. Qualified to teach mathematics preferred: 18+ graduate hours in mathematics. Ability to develop additional curriculum that can support the Physics transfer pathway is highly preferred.
