Job Summary
Reporting to the Medical Director and serving as a key member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team that provides medical care to students and eligible members of the University community. This position has been identified by Federal Law (Jeanne Clery Act) as a Campus Security Authority (CSA), with significant student and campus responsibilities. CSA 's are obligated to report crimes reported to them which occurred on campus, in public areas bordering campus and in certain non-campus buildings owned or controlled (leased) by the University. This is a 10-month benefited staff position.

Due to the Governor's approval for the Cost of Living Adjustment to Fiscal Years 2022 and 2023, final salaries at the time of hire may be impacted, but will not be lower than what is advertised.

Responsibilities
  • Perform related duties as assigned to support the mission of the University
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient records
  • Provide clinical oversight of nurse practitioners and physician assistants, including chart review and countersignature
  • Manage caseload of patients requiring primary care, including chronic and episodic care for the acutely and chronically ill
  • Participate in the education and preceptorship of student learners and new staff members
  • Provide in-service programs for Health Services staff and other University personnel
  • Assist with the Health Education staff of Health Services with on-campus health education programming activities
  • Participate in staff meetings and in staff committees, cooperates with peers and others, and maintains competency through continuing education as per Health Services policies
  • Participate in clinical research
  • Provide advisory and educational services to the greater community as requested

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Medical degree from accredited school of medicine or osteopathy

Other Required Qualifications
  • Completion of ACGME-accredited residency within specialty
  • Board certification or eligibility in a primary care specialty (Family Medicine, Pediatrics, or Internal Medicine) or Emergency Medicine and possession of all legal requirements for the practice of medicine in Georgia as determined by the Georgia State Composite Board of Medical Examiners
  • Possess and maintain active Georgia medical license and in good standing
  • Active DEA registration prescribing number
  • CPR certified

Preferred Qualifications
  • Two or more years of experience as a physician
