The Department of Mathematics and Technology at Flagler College is seeking a Visiting Lecturer of Mathematics or Computer Information Systems (depending upon qualifications), to begin in August 2022. We are looking for a candidate who is committed to teaching and mentoring undergraduate students. The ideal candidate for this position should have experience teaching introductory statistics and/or introductory computer information courses. The candidate must be a team member who is willing to work with a team of instructors. This position is for a one-year full time appointment as a Visiting Lecturer. The annual teaching load is 5/5.
Requirements for application include evidence of excellence in teaching and/or industry experience in mathematics or computer information systems. There will be no service or professional growth requirements for this one-year position. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience.
The Department of Mathematics and Technology currently offers majors and minors in both Mathematics and Computer Information Systems. The faculty teach courses designed for each of these majors, as well as service courses for other majors on campus. - Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Computer Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics; or a Master’s Degree in a closely related field (or have a documented completion date prior to appointment)
- Evidence of excellence in teaching undergraduate mathematics, computer information systems, data science, statistics and/or computer programming courses.
- A commitment to mentoring students.
- Ph.D. in Mathematics, Computer Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics; or a terminal degree in a closely related field.
