The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of General Internal is seeking hospitalists to join our academic group at the level of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Professor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor commensurate with qualifications; tenure-track or fixed term appointment available. Minimum Education/Experience :
The primary emphasis is inpatient care as a Hospitalist at Vidant Medical Center (VMC) in the new 8-bed Medical/Pysch Unit.
The role of the Med/Psych Hospitalist includes, but is not limited to, the serving as a hospitalist on the in-patient academic General Internal Medicine service, primarily covering the new Medicine/Psychiatric Unit of the hospital; however, may also serve as hospitalist on one of the other Internal Medicine teams. Candidate will also participate in the supervision and education of medical students, medical residents and interns. Candidate will also cover the psychiatric consult liaison service some afternoons as per agreement with the Chief of the Psychiatry service.
Participate in medical student education as directed by the Division Chief of General Internal Medicine and the Chief of Psychiatry. Also participate in clinical, non-clinical, educational and research activities as agreed upon with the Division Chief and Department Chair. May also provide care for patients in the ECU GIM out-patient clinic, if the need so arises, by supervising the Internal Medicine Resident Continuity Clinic.
MD or DO from an appropriately accredited institution. License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation :
Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry.
