SummaryThis position provides clinical, administrative and supervision for clinical services in a comprehensive student focused medical care service for a population of 13,000 students. The candidate must have a strong customer service orientation. The Assistant Nurse Manager position is an integral part of Student Health Leadership and responsible for all nursing functions. This position is also responsible for the clinical aspects of the accreditation process including environment of care and infection control. Under administrative direction, plans, directs, develops policies, and creates quality improvement functions; administratively responsible for multiple clinical areas and operations. Responsibilities include staffing, budget,equipment, facilities management, personnel, purchasing, supplies and staff training.
Ensures optimum quality primary, preventive, and/or mental health care through implementation of professional nursing knowledge and techniques. Works as a team member with physicians and ancillary staff in addressing the issues of the student population. Works independently on special projects related to patient care, staff development and management, either self-motivated or as assigned. This position is also responsible for the clinical aspects of environment of care and infection control. This position will follow the Standards of Practice for Nurses from the American College Health Association.
This is a full-time, 12 month position with some weekend and evening hours required. This position also may require participation in off campus programs.
Required Qualifications- Registered Nurse
- Current nursing license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Louisiana
- 5 years ambulatory or clinical nursing care experience
- 2 years infection control nursing experience
- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing or Master's in health related field
- Three years of supervisory/managerial experience
- Experience in Travel Medicine and Occupational Medicine
- Experience with third party billing and insurance
- College Health Nursing certificate
- Five year college health experience
