Donor Relations Coordinator

Job Description:

The Donor Relations Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the development, implementation, and management of the College’s stewardship and donor relations program. Reporting to the Director of Institutional and Major Gifts Stewardship, the Coordinator works closely with Advancement staff, the President’s Office, administrators, and faculty to achieve donor cultivation and stewardship objectives for the College.

This is a full-time, hybrid position, with remote work possible two days per week.

Essential Duties Summary:

Specific Duties:

  • Responsible for the gift acknowledgment process for major gifts, including the drafting of personalized letters
  • Responsible for presidential acknowledgments, supporting the President’s Office with ongoing donor information to assist with the acknowledgment process
  • Collaborates with the Dean of Students and Financial Aid Offices on scholarship reporting and on the naming of students for endowed scholarships
  • Prepares and distributes annual reports to donors who have given to endowed and sponsored undergraduate and graduate scholarship, program, and other funds
  • Maintains donor records and generates reports in Raiser’s Edge database
  • Interacts with high-level donors, prospects, and other SLC constituencies
  • Researches donor or fund histories
  • Staffs and supports events on or off-campus, occasionally in the evening or on weekends
  • Assists Director of Institutional and Major Gifts Stewardship with projects as needed

Required Qualifications:

Experience and skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in higher education or another kind of complex organization
  • Demonstrated writing and editing skills
  • Strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to work in a high-volume, deadline-oriented environment
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects, take initiative, and think creatively
  • Ability to work independently
  • A commitment to high performance and teamwork.
  • Excellent computer skills—Word, Excel
  • Experience with or ability to learn fundraising software (Raiser’s Edge)
