The Enterprise Applications team develops, maintains, and provides support for applications owned by both the Library Services and the Distance Learning and Student Services (DLSS) divisions.

Responsibilities This position is responsible for the development of web applications providing services to Florida students and higher education institutions, with an emphasis on applications in the general areas of library services and student services.

Develops new and existing web applications in support of business units. The development should adhere to established best practices, policies, and procedures. The development responsibilities include the gathering and analysis of requirements, creating and presenting preliminary design documents and prototypes, developing automated deployment procedures, authoring, and debugging code, authoring and executing automated tests, manually testing when automated tests are inappropriate, documenting design changes, and providing routine maintenance.

Assists business units with technical aspects of customization and extension of boxed and SaaS software solutions and plug-ins.

Participates in project management to ensure timely and effective implementation.

Provides on-call support during and outside of business hours. Works with other staff and vendor technical personnel as needed to investigate and resolve application software problems. Keeps other staff informed of the status of problem resolution efforts. Participates in maintenance when needed.

Performs general business duties. Maintains effective communications with appropriate FLVC staff. Maintains effective working relationships to provide for a successful and respectful working environment.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or other appropriate degree and two years’ experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience (Note: or a combination of appropriate post high school education and experience equal to six years.)

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Ability to prioritize, organize, and multitask.

Ability to utilize advanced problem-solving skills.

Ability to utilize technical skills.

Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.

Knowledge of standard concepts, best practices, and procedures within the technology field.

Experience with standard programming concepts and best practices within the software development field?

Experience with C#, Java, JavaScript, CSS, YAML, and T-SQL.

Experience with service-oriented architecture.

Experience with Git pull requests and processes.

Experience with Visual Studio.

Preferred Experience with project management.

Experience with unit and integration testing with MSTest.

Experience with Azure.
