Job Details
This is a 12 month position. Contract period renewable. The individual in this position is responsible for the development, management and quality of courses, programs and activities that provide personal enrichment opportunities for adults and seniors. The manager must be responsive to the trends and needs of the community utilizing research, customer feedback and observation as guides for new program development. He/she must be creative and have experience planning and organizing social and interactive events and programs. The manager will be active in the community, establishing relationships with local businesses, chambers and local community organizations to establish partnerships that support program visibility and expansion, which shall include but not be limited to negotiated use of off campus facilities, identification of qualified instructors and/or volunteers, and contract training agreements.

This position is open until filled. The College of Southern Maryland is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Specific Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:
- Develop and manage adult personal enrichment courses, programs and activities.
- Create a minimum of 8 new courses and/or programs per schedule
- Serves as course manager for personal enrichment programs, preparing CC10s, contracts, confirmation letters and LOA’s for instructors and vendors.
- Serves as hiring coordinator, responsible for interviewing, hiring, training and evaluating instructors and makes recommendations for improving programs and services.
- Communicates with instructors to schedule courses, develop content, and construct measurable objectives appropriate for personal enrichment continuing education courses.
- Creates, maintains and updates an instructor database.
- Conduct data entry into required CSM data management systems.
- Ensures classrooms/labs/off site locations are appropriately set up for training/classes.
- Collaborates routinely with Credit, CWD Instructional Services and Marketing to coordinate program schedules and develop promotional materials.
- In cooperation with the Workforce Center execute contract training.
- Utilize data collected through course evaluations, surveys and outreach to inform program development and delivery.
- In cooperation with the Director of Personal Enrichment Programs, projects annual enrollments and revenue, providing input into the development of annual budget needs.
- Contributes to departmental, division and college wide strategic planning process.
- Support and/or deliver class instruction and/or program as needed.
- Maintain active community engagement to establish awareness, collaboration and increase program enrollments.
- Performs other related work as required.
The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly.
