The Department of Pediatrics, Section of General Pediatrics has an opening for a full-time Instructor position.

Nature of Work

The Department of Pediatrics Section of Adolescent Medicine has an opening for a full-time Instructor Nurse Practitioner. This clinical provider will be a key member in the TRUE Center for Gender Diversity providing health services to this patient population. This clinical position will function from the Children's Hospital Colorado Outpatient Clinics and serves children, adolescents and young adults who identify as transgender or gender diverse. The candidate will be expected to provide independent direct clinical services for patients seen in the TRUE Center for Gender Diversity.

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Consultative care for transgender and gender diverse children, adolescents, and young adults
  • Administer injections
  • Conduct behavioral health assessments
  • Work on a multidisciplinary team
 

Salary Offered or Salary Range

The salary range (or hiring range) has been established at $95,000 to  $101,000.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements

    Applicants must have 2 years of clinical experience with children, adolescents and young adultsNurse Practitioner license required - PNP or FNPPrescriptive authority and current DEA licenseDemonstrated experience with LGBTQ youth in a clinical setting
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. 

 

Condition of Employment:

  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children’s Hospital Colorado
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check
Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience supporting LGBTQ youth in a clinical setting
  • Demonstrated clinical experience working with vulnerable populations
  • Demonstrated clinical experience with reproductive health
  • Demonstrated experience with screening for, treatment of, and prevention of sexually transmitted infections
  • Spanish speaking
 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Understanding of the complexity of caring for LGBTQ youth.
  • Commitment to continuing education related to standards of gender affirming care, including hormone treatment.
  • Ability to teach and supervise trainees
  • Familiar with practicing delivery of confidential services surrounding sensitive topics such as gender identity, physical and behavioral health, sexual health and other related topics.
