Job Summary
The D. Abbott Turner College of Business at Columbus State University (CSU) invites applications for a full time, non-tenure track Business Law Lecturer. This position provides instruction for business law courses and may secondarily teach other courses as the individual's credentials allow. Course load is 4 courses per semester. Summer teaching, with additional compensation, is available.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Deliver high-quality instruction through the planning and implementation of effective learning strategies and environments, utilizing a variety of student engagement strategies in the classroom to ensure active student participation.
  • Adapt courses for both in-person and on-line formats, ensuring that the student experience is equivalent across modalities.
  • Promote student success through timely communication, timely grading and other feedback, and implementation of strategies that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Work comfortably with a diverse student population, including dual-enrolled high school students, traditional college students, and nontraditional college students, demonstrating a commitment to equity, inclusion, and respectful interactions with persons of diverse ethnic, cultural, social-economic, or educational backgrounds.
  • Meet professional expectations by maintaining professional currency, attending college meetings as needed, and contributing to a collaborative culture across the College.

Required Qualifications
Candidates must have an earned J.D. or Master's degree and teaching experience at the University level; the ability to model integrity through self-awareness, personal accountability, ethical behavior, quality standards, and sustainable practices; the ability to think critically by applying problem solving practices, acquiring relevant information, using technology and other resources appropriately, and evaluating alternatives; and the ability to communicate effectively by speaking and writing clearly, concisely, and professionally, practicing active listening, and reading critically and adapting communication for audience.

Proposed Salary
The salary for this position is commensurate with education and relevant experience and includes full benefits.
