South Puget Sound Community College seeks a highly motivated and qualified candidate for the position of HVAC Technician in Facilities.

This position will serve as a HVAC technician, responsible for testing, repair and maintenance of HVAC equipment owned and/or operated by SPSCC. The position will support college efforts toward sustainability and energy conservation. This position will also serve in the role of maintenance mechanic as needed.

What You'll Do
Perform the work of an HVAC Technician:
- Install, maintain, diagnosis and repair HVAC equipment
- Analyze and maintain building systems, equipment, and conditions; proficient in HVAC mechanical and control systems.
- Monitor and adjust building heating and cooling; work closely with Energy and Resource Management Program Coordinator to achieve best result
- Operate and maintain testing instruments and equipment
Perform duties of a maintenance mechanic; provide support to other Facilities staff:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years’ experience as a HVAC Technician or combination of schooling and work experience.
- EPA universal refrigerant handler’s card.
- Ability to work independently, perform multiple tasks and accommodate interruptions.
- Computer skills – MS Office; CMMS; HVAC Control Systems
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Collaborative -- The ability to work in culturally diverse groups toward a common goal by involving, including and valuing others.
- Critical Thinking -- The ability to use inductive and deductive reasoning to understand diverse perspectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong commitment to customer service.
- Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and written.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
