Under limited supervision, apply knowledge and skills of a journey person (on a flexible schedule as required) in the installation, service and repair of a variety of equipment (e.g., refrigeration, H.V.A.C., pneumatic controls, steam traps) and steam pipes. Will assist in the planning and implementation of the College's maintenance and remodeling projects. Essential Job Responsibilities:Operate, repair and perform preventative maintenance on boilers, chillers, air handlers and other electro-mechanical devices.Troubleshoot, repair and calibrate electronic and pneumatic circuits, controls and controlled devices using testing equipment such as a volt ohmmeter, ammeter, flowmeter, pressure gauges, velocimeter, etc.Maintain records and submit reports on designated equipment.Perform duties as assigned on the Emergency Response and Control team.Assistance with campus snow removal may be required.Ability to cover for electrician and plumber in their absence.Perform other duties as may be assigned.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalency required.Two years technical education or job experience or combination of job experience and formal technical education which equates to two years.Must have a current EPA Certification for Freon handling/reclaiming (Universal certification is preferred).Must be able to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and structural blueprints and schematics.Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable under the Colleges insurance policy.Successful completion of a background check in accordance with Coe College policy.
