The Student Union department's mission is to: engage students in the campus community; embrace the diversity of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests; bolster the educational purpose of the university; support student learning and development; provide facilities and deliver an array of cultural, educational, social, and recreational programs and services.

The Bowling and Billiards Center has been an FSU tradition since 1964. The new twelve lane facility includes bowling leagues, billiards tournaments, intramurals, parties, cosmic bowling, late night programming and open bowling. The Bowling and Billiards center will be a popular party spot for student and university groups.

This position will serve as the overall manager of the Union Bowling and Billiards center.

    Provide leadership and supervision to full-time professional staff. Supervise 10-15 student OPS employees. Oversee overall operation of the facility including following university policies for Human Resources and accounting procedures.development and oversight of all financial aspects of the facility.Manage social and education programs.Oversees care and maintenance of the facility to include procurement of supplies, equipment, and resale items.Responsible for developing policies and procedures applicable to the facility and those events are compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act and Environmental Health and Safety policies and develops systems for the execution of daily functions at the facility.Works with academic departments in scheduling bowling and billiards classes and is responsible for the organization and sponsorship of the bowling teams to include hiring and supervising coaches, coordinating recruitment and sponsorship programs and scheduling of tournament participation and activities.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree and four years of experience related to the duties of this position; or a high school diploma/equivalency and eight years of experience in same.

(Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years in same as above.)

Experience in bowling center operation, certification in bowling coaching, experience in supervision of employees.

Experience working with equipment located in a bowling facility, including pinsetters, lane maintenance and bowling pro-shop equipment or transferable skills.

Advanced customer service and problem-solving skills.

Attention to student needs, and the ability to relate to a diverse student, faculty, administrative, employer, and community population.

Willing to work nontraditional hours as necessary.

Preferred Preference will be given to candidates who:

    Have full time experienceExperience in supervisionKnowledge in risk management, accessibility, and safety.Proven success building strong partnerships and forming collaborative efforts with students, staff, and faculty.Ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Will be expected to teach transferrable skills in organization/delegation, organizing meetings, and ethical decision-making.Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of student development, policy development, and evidence of positive working relationships and effective communication.
