The Department of Health, Physical and Secondary Education seeks applications for a full-time tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor to teach undergraduate courses in the public health program, advise students, conduct research and apply for and secure grant funding. The faculty member will teach courses and serve as the Program Coordinator for the Bachelor of Science in Public Health program within the Department of Health, Physical and Secondary Education. The faculty responsibilities are teaching undergraduate content and seminar courses in public health. Courses include but not limited to: Introduction to Public Health; Research Methods in Public Health; Needs Assessment & Program Planning; Seminar in Public Health and the Capstone Internship supervision. Other duties will include advising undergraduate students, providing service to the department, school, and university, participating in research, grant writing, and other scholarly activities. The successful candidate will start work in August 2022.
The successful candidate will be expected to make the following contributions to the Department of Health, Physical and Secondary Education:

Faculty are expected to conduct research and develop professionally.

Serve on school, college, and university committees as assigned.
Professional and Public Service is a part of faculty service expectations and might include activities such as the following:
- Provide continuing education service, instruction, or program development for department, school, college, or university
- Membership and participation in community organizations
- Other significant services to the community
Serve as the Program Coordinator for the Public Health Degree.Minimum Education and Experience Requirements::
Earned PhD., DrPH., or equivalent research doctorate degree in a Public Health or related discipline from an accredited institution and must have a broad background in teaching undergraduate public health courses and be an effective team worker. Potential candidates must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication and analytical skills. The successful candidate must have demonstrated an interest and aptitude for teaching a diverse population of undergraduate students in support of the mission of an HBCU institution, an understanding of diversity and equity, and evidence of scholarly works and professional service. A.B.D. will be considered with a doctoral degree completion date on or before August 2022.Preferred Qualifications::
5+ years of experience with Public Health curriculumOpen Until Filled::
Experience with public and community health degree program development, evaluation, and CEPH accreditation
Advising undergraduate student groups and supervising undergraduate research projects
