Job Purpose:
The Vice President of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management (VPSAEM) provides executive leadership, strategic planning and administrative oversight for all operations and support functions residing in the Student Affairs Division at Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC). Through active engagement, the VPSAEM provides the vision, innovation, and collaboration in the division and the College to enhance KCKCC’s position as a student-centered institution.
Maintaining a mindset of advancing excellence, the VPSAEM provides executive leadership and strategic thinking that contributes to the creation of a campus climate that promotes efficient and effective enrollment management functions, a comprehensive student development program, academic achievement, student retention, college completion, and interpersonal development for a diverse student body. The Vice President works collaboratively with Academic Affairs, Faculty Senate, Staff Senate, Student Government, and others to optimize enrollment processes that lead to student success.
The VPSAEM oversees division-wide planning and budgeting that aligns with the mission, vision and strategic priorities identified in the strategic plan of KCKCC, and objectives for the Student Affairs and Enrollment Management Division. The Vice President serves as an integral member of the President's Cabinet. The position has specific responsibility, oversight and is responsible for the success of the departments within the division that include Admissions; Athletics; College Nurse; Counseling and Advocacy; Financial Aid; I; Military and Veteran Center; Registrar; Pioneer Career Center; Student Activities; Student Housing; Student Services and Student Success Center.
Position Qualifications and/or Education:
Minimum Qualifications and/or Education
- Master’s or higher degree from an accredited institution.
- Five (5) years of significant progressively responsible college leadership with direct experience in enrollment management or student services.
- Direct work experience in a combination of areas, such as: Admissions, Records, Enrollment Management, Financial Aid, Student Conduct, Student Services and Military/Veterans Services offices.
Preferred Qualifications and/or Education
- Doctorate degree from an accredited institution in Community College Leadership, Higher Educational Leadership, Student Affairs, Enrollment Management, or related field.
- Five (5) years of significant progressively responsible college leadership with direct and demonstrated successes working in both enrollment management and student services.
- Demonstrated experience and success developing and/or implementing strategic enrollment management plans, student retention and completion plans.
- Record of successful data informed decision-making with a focus on best practices related to enrollment management and student affairs.
- Demonstrated experience that includes executive leadership in higher education.
- Experience working in a community college setting.
- Demonstrated experience and sensitivity serving diverse academic, social economic, cultural, ethnic, and underserved populations of students and employees.
- Demonstrated experience leading strategic initiatives to implement, leverage, and integrate multiple student information systems to support student retention and growth.
- Multilingual (Spanish preferred).
Work Schedule:
40 hours per week, Monday –Friday. Must be able to work a variable schedule/hour to meet operational needs. May require evening and weekend hours.
