The Curriculum and Academic Affairs Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of the College's curriculum processes that include managing the Educational Policies and Curriculum (EPC) committee's workflows, coordinating compliance activities related to curricular changes, and communicating curriculum updates to internal and external stakeholders. While this position is responsible for the project management, technology systems and support services for curriculum, no curriculum development or content development is required. The Curriculum/Academic Affairs Coordinator serves as the main point of contact in the Associate Vice President for Learning and Academic Affairs (AVP) office for all full-time faculty personnel matters including promotion, tenure and faculty contract status.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide organizational support for EPC and serve as the primary contact for curriculum stakeholders, reviewers and editors across the college. Create all EPC meeting agendas, EPC meeting minutes and EPC-related Academic Forum/Council motions and reports; coordinate with faculty, reviewers and stakeholders on new and modified programs/courses while tracking and monitoring all curricular changes.
Facilitate Curriculog (curriculum management software) training for curriculum stakeholders and EPC committee members and serve as owner and technical expert to faculty and administrators on Curriculog-related issues. Oversee the review, approval and routing process of all course and program proposals in curriculog. Work cross-functionally with Records and Registration, college department representatives, and Catalog Editor to ensure all curriculum references are accurate and up to date. Maximize the use of technology and improve processes for efficiency and timeliness.

Serve as the main point of contact for all curriculum-related Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) compliance activities. Facilitate all required MHEC payments as appropriate. Research, draft, submit and file all required MHEC and Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) documents and notifications in a timely manner to ensure the College's curriculum additions and changes maintain compliance. Track and maintain accurate records regarding the College's Academic Program Inventory and related communications to MHEC and MSCHE.
Provide direction and support to departments in creating MHEC documentation for new program and major program modification submissions.
Research, review and submit all curricular-related Board of Trustees (BOT) items to the AVP for final review.

Research, track and maintain full-time faculty personnel data related to faculty contract status to include new hires, promotion, tenure, tenure-track and multi-year contracts. Serve as the main point of contact for the Associate Vice President of Learning and Academic Affairs office to Human Resources and Academic Deans on all issues related to faculty contract status. Create accurate reports, research and draft all BOT items related to faculty contract status. At the direction of the AVP, originate memoranda, letters and reports to be sent to faculty, staff, administrators and external stakeholders.

Other duties as agreed upon to support the AVP office.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

Minimum of two years of relevant experience

Exceptional attention to detail.

Demonstrated organizational, analytical, creative thinking, problem solving, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.

Experience in developing/delivering professional trainings.

Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to deal tactfully and effectively with administration, faculty, staff and the public.

Experience working in higher education, particularly with faculty affairs and curriculum.

Understanding of academic program requirements, and a strong familiarity with curriculum processes.

Experience with Acalog, or Curriculog.

Understanding of the Maryland Higher Education Commission regulations.
