Job Details

The Program in Neuroscience and Behavior at Mount Holyoke College invites applications for a full-time visiting lecturer to teach in our vibrant neuroscience program beginning July 1, 2022. The position is for 1 year and will include course instruction at the introductory, intermediate, and/or advanced level. The successful candidate will teach our Introductory Neuroscience course as well advanced laboratory and seminar courses in their area of specialization. We seek candidates with a strong commitment to undergraduate education who have demonstrated experience mentoring students who are broadly diverse with regard to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, and religion. The teaching load is 5 courses per year.

The Neuroscience and Behavior Program maintains an interdisciplinary and collaborative collection of faculty who engage in rich and innovative scholarship. Mount Holyoke supports faculty scholarship through department funds as well as competitive faculty grants, and laboratory space is available to accommodate research needs. Mount Holyoke also offers a comprehensive faculty mentoring program and invests in faculty across their career span.

Mount Holyoke is an undergraduate liberal arts college with 2,200 students and 220 faculty. Over half the faculty are women; one-fourth are persons of color. Mount Holyoke College is located about 90 miles west of Boston in the Connecticut River valley, and is a member of the Five College Consortium consisting of Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, and Smith Colleges and the University of Massachusetts.
