Subject to Grant Funding?:Yes Essential Job Functions:1. Provides professional medical services to patients in a timely, competent, and efficient manner.

2. Provides on-call coverage for patients for which Doctor is primary treating physician.

3. Interviews patients to obtain information, such as complaints, symptoms, medical histories, and family histories.

4. Examines patients to obtain information about functional status of areas, such as vision, physical strength, coordination, reflexes, sensations, language skills, cognitive abilities, and mental status.

5. Performs or interprets the outcomes of procedures or diagnostic tests, such as lumbar punctures, electroencephalography, electromyography, and nerve conduction velocity tests.

6. Orders or interprets results of laboratory analyses of patients' blood or cerebrospinal fluid.

7. Diagnoses neurological conditions based on interpretation of examination findings, histories, or test results.

8. Prescribes or administers medications, such as anti-epileptic drugs, and monitors patients for behavioral and cognitive side effects.

9. Identifies and treats major neurological system diseases and disorders, such as central nervous system infection, cranio-spinal trauma, dementia, and stroke.

10. Develops treatment plans based on diagnoses and on evaluation of factors, such as age and general health, or procedural risks and costs.

11. Informs patients or families of neurological diagnoses and prognoses, or benefits, risks and costs of various treatment plans.

12. Counsels’ patients or others on the background of neurological disorders including risk factors, or genetic or environmental concerns.

13. Interprets the results of neuroimaging studies, such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT), and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scans.

14. Provides medical documentation for all services provided in a timely and accurate manner.

15. Writes grant proposals to procure external research funding.

16. Contributes both collaboratively and independently to externally funded research. Searches for new funding sources, manages the completion of renewal grants, and researches and writes new grant applications.

17. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

1. Medicine - Comprehensive knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventative health-care measures.
2. Psychology — Thorough knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
3. Therapy and Counseling — Comprehensive knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions, and for career counseling and guidance
4. English Language - Thorough knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
5. Customer and Personal Service - General knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction.

7. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils, and computer keyboards.Job Requirements: Required Certifications/Licensures:1. Board Certification in Neurology by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).
2. Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Florida; license shall not have been revoked at any time.
3. Licensed without restriction to dispense all controlled substances, narcotics and other drugs as may be necessary to provide services hereunder.
4. Eligible for participation in, and for payment by, all programs administered by the Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services, the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
